When patients are considering having a plastic surgery performed, they begin to consider many factors. After they think about the result and their current health, they often wonder what the price will be to have this cosmetic work done. While it is understandable that patients in Orange County will consider cost, it is important that patients have an idea of what goes into the final price point. Patients will always be able to find a surgeon who will perform a cheap procedure, but that does not mean that the patient will get the expert results they want. Cosmetic surgery is an investment in yourself so you will want to make the investment wisely.
In order to help patients come to terms in the price of a cosmetic surgery, Dr. Kevin Sadati prefers to outline the various factors that make up the cost. Prices at his Newport Beach practice for his rhinoplasty procedures vary based on the patient, but the following factors influence the price the most.
Fee for the surgeon — This fee makes up the bulk of the cost for any rhinoplasty procedure. As an expert facial plastic surgeon has invested more time and resources into his or her skill, the cost for an expert surgeon will be higher. Inexperienced surgeons cost less money out of pocket, but their results can be shoddy. Ultimately, a patient will want to have this surgery done correctly the first time, so it’s essential that they work with an expert.
Fee for the anesthesiologist — An anesthesiologist is also present during the operation, and this medical professional has their own fee. This fee varies based on the type of anesthesia that patient needs. General anesthesia is the most expensive option, but it is required for most surgeries. Local anesthesia used in coordination with an oral sedation pill is an option that can be talked about with the surgeon.
Fee for the facility — There are three facility types available for most surgeries. A hospital is by far the most expensive location, and the doctor’s office is the cheapest option. Dr. Sadati prefers to work out of surgical centers as they have a moderate price point but do not compromise on safety and quality.
Fee for the overall complexity of the case — As a case increases in complexity, it also increases the cost. An easy rhinoplasty that requires a few touch ups will not cost as much as a septoplasty, which takes more time and effort on the part of the surgeon.
